BACK STORY
10+ years ago, I was set in a boat along with other children from my village after a series of attacks from an undead dragon that had decimated my people over the last days. I recall this frantic moment filled with tears at being separated from my parents, but the shaken look in my father’s eye told me there was no other way. The warning bells were sounded and that meant the dracolich was once again spotted on its way to the village. The idea was to get the little ones down stream and after the grown ups have made their final stand, they’d journey to the human settlement and reclaim us to bring us home.
They never came.
I told the humans we should wait longer. Some of us were put to work on their farms. The rest of us were taken to the city and sold as workers or worse. From the city, I was sold and moved 4 times until finally I came to the service of Palanar, a holy man of Heironeous. He taught me about goodness and how to stand for righteousness to see good restored in the world because it is what brings light and life. He taught me about my heritage and what made me different from others. This ultimately is what brought the scourge Hauengroth to our village— it wanted to wipe our kind from Faerun.
Palanar taught me about the ways of Heironeous. Then I started learning about the name that I had remembered from so many rituals back home: Tamara. She is why we lived at peace for so many years. The goodness she brings is worth fighting for. I go to see that others can choose goodness and to destroy evil where it can be found. I go to reunite my brothers and sisters lost from the river boat sale that winter.
